I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Rubbish / Litter, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. A fantastic group of 16 children, aged between 5 and 12, from the Make, Move and Munch programme, run by Newport Youth and Play and the Community Development Team, spent the morning helping to make Bettws a cleaner and brighter place.
It was inspiring to see the pride these children have in their community. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and willingness to make a positive difference were a real credit to them, proving that even the smallest actions can have a big impact.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, including PCSOs and officers from Newport Neighbourhood Policing Team, Hedyn, and Cerys Rees and her team from the Youth and Play Coordinator for Newport Youth and Play Service, for working together to make the event such a success.

Well done to every child who took part—you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. Together, we’re helping to build a stronger, cleaner and more connected Bettws.

- Aesthetic Appeal: Litter detracts from the beauty of our surroundings, affecting community pride and tourism.
